Due to the impending arrival of my 64 note Zonta Bayan, I am forced to make room by offering my Bugari 58 note Bayan Accordion for sale. It has served me well for several years now and even helped me win a few NAO United Kingdom Accordion championship sections. It is in very good condition, still plays well with no mechanical faults that I am aware of and is still in very much in tune.
This Bugari Armando Free Bass Convertor Accordion is a perfect example of Italian craftsmanship at its best. At around the £10000 plus mark for a similar new instrument, it offers superb value for money.
It is a five row chromatic button accordion and has 58 playable notes on the right hand keyboard with a 120 Bass Standard (or Stradella) bass keyboard on the left. It has a convertor switch on the left hand which “converts” the chord rows into a 55 note free bass keyboard (and back again!). All this in a relatively small compact instrument.
It is a double cassotto instrument with the 8 foot (Clarinet) and 16 foot (Bassoon) reeds in the tone chamber giving a rich warm and mellow tone to these reeds.
It has hand made Italian reeds with two sets of Italian made Russian style reed plates for the lowest notes of the left hand giving a very powerful sound to the left hand bass notes.
Both keyboards are light, fast and responsive making it a very easy instrument to play.
It comes with a brand new Italian made Fuselli Deluxe gig bag and full leather Fuselli straps worth nearly £200.
